About the artwork
With an abundance of multi-coloured hearts and white flowers, this piece, engulfed in a royal blue background, is emblematic of Coplu's signature style, reflecting the theme of love, peace and harmony the artist uses as majority of his inspiration. While a female figure and a child figure stands on the flower and heart filled island, the male figure is seen pushing the island from within the waters, perhaps reflective of Coplu's feelings towards his role as a father, man and husband, taking the responsibility of keeping the family afloat with love and beauty on his shoulders.
About the artist
Born in the Turkish town of Ushak, Coplu brought into the art world his distinctive style of cartoons, filled with warm and sentimental characters that range from silly to profound. Highly recognized and exhibited, the artist has won many competitions and accolades for his artworks and has been published in various media in Turkey, South East Asia and across Europe. He has also established an Open Air Cartoon Exhibition Space and the Cartoon School of Antalya. Part of many prestigious collections, the artist has been exhibited the world over, including France, Italy, the US, Germany and Spain.
