About the artist

Born 1957 in Western Australia, Miertje Skidmore has been painting for 30 years. Since her first-ever solo exhibition at Art Images Gallery in Adelaide, Skidmore has exhibited throughout Australia and is now represented by commercial galleries in Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland, becoming a much sought-after artist. Miertje Skidmore's grand and complex abstracts depict the power of the elements and their capacity for destruction and regeneration, transfixing the viewer in their colors and detail. Award-winning and highly acclaimed, her paintings are now part of many prestigious private and corporate collections.
