About the artwork
Ronnie Ford's usage of contrasting textures and colors, luscious purples, stark yellows and deep blues, intrigues the eye. The composition draws attention to the house in the middle of the work, an impression from Ford's childhood when he would climb to the top of the trees to reign over the forest and catch the glimpse of a distant house. Through the combination of various painting techniques, a sense of depth and dimension is created, bringing the painting to life.
