About the artwork
David Kracov limits his uplifting and whimsical sculptures to strictly 55 sculptures per edition. He personally hand-paints each of them which makes every piece slightly different and unique. In this sculpture, the pages of a book come alive and cascade into butterflies. To David, the butterfly represents the souls of one million children who lost their lives in the Holocaust and his tribute to the delicacy and value of a child's life has become a poignant symbol in each of his art pieces.
