An illusion. A transformation. A revelation. Magically coming to life through different vantage points are two distinctive portraits that exist on a singular canvas surface adorned with vertical ridges. Transformative and utterly astonishing, viewers are greeted with realistically rendered portraits of Steve Jobs and Elon Musk that mutually morph into one another. Testament to his mastery of kinetic portraits, life-like representation and grasp of optical illusions, Sergi presents a sharing platform for the contemplation of varied perspectives while simultaneously building common ground between two intellectual beings who own revolutionary businesses with immense contributions to mankind.

About the artist

Sergi Cadenas started painting at the age of 30. Self-taught, he builds large-scale canvases with precise vertical ridges before painting separate portraits on either side of the narrow ridges. The process leads to a mesmerizing effect in which each portrait appears to transform into the other as the viewer shifts vantage point, an exceptional technique that requires great precision.
The artist is currently focusing on large-format portraits. His works can be found in the Porrentruy Optical Art Museum (POPA) in Switzerland and in private collections around the world.
