About the artwork
Dominant yet passive. Balancing out the domineering stance of mountains amidst nature is the sense of ataraxy evoked from the predominant soothing yellow tint that persists throughout the painting. The construction of depth with varying tonal values, coupled with the deliberate distinction between layers of foreground and background, deconstructs the conventional fourth wall; viewers are transported into the painting itself — they assume positions as intimate viewers of the magnificent mountain scenery itself, rather than the painting.
