About the artwork

Ku - 24/4/19 - In this landscape piece, Chansrinual attempts to illustrate the grandeur of nature through the exhibitory spread of his three-dimensional acrylic mountain formations. Solid acrylic is painstakingly melted and applied to the canvas stroke by stroke and then painted over to achieve the unique texture and layer of depth present in many of his nature paintings. Against the flatness of a silver sky, Chansrinual's mountains stand out in both form and dimension despite the monochrome palette. The artist's unique choice of two colours instead creates perspective and shapes the overall contours of his mountains. Coupled with the wide length of the canvas, this piece of work actively draws the audience in for a closer examination of the artist's creation, reminding us of the wonderous and almost surrealistic quality of our planet's most raw and natural of formations.
