About the artwork
R1 till24.03 What may appear at first glance to be a depiction of adults engaging in the playful games of children, is in fact Xie Ai Ge’s profound vision of the celebrations and advocacies of a harmonious relationship between man and woman- between human and human. In ‘Balance’, the artist cleverly places her figures and their gestures to reflect values of support, mediation and working together- elements that prove as tenants to a successful coalescence of thoughts and behaviour between human beings. Ultimately speaking for how working together and supporting to each other is the answer to a balance of life energies, the simplistic sculpture allows for unprecedented thought and introspection.
